Learning Disabilities is term that is used to describe significant difficulties in acquiring and use of listening, speaking, reading , writing, reasoning, or mathematic abilities. Learning disability is neurological handicap that effects the brains ability to understand, remember or communicate information. Once believed to be rare learning disabilities affect 5% of our population. Many children are not doing as well as they could in school because of disabilities which have not been identified. Year after year many of these youngsters are pegged as slow witted, insolent or lazy, they constantly been forced to achieve by the adults concerned about their academic performance. When the usual tactics of reward and punishment fail, parents and teachers become frustrated- but no one is more frustrated than the student themselves.
