MAKKAH: In his Friday speech yesterday, Imam of the Grand Mosque Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais appealed to international bodies to take steps to ensure an immediate cease-fire in Gaza and condemned state-sponsored terrorism against innocent people.

JEDDAH - Pilgrims have started leaving the holy city of Madinah following the conclusion of the recent Haj.
Of the total 564,242 pilgrims who arrived in the holy city by Sunday, 344,044 of them have left, according to the Haj Committee.
More than 220,000 pilgrims are still in the holy city of Madinah, which is a drop of 20 per cent over the same period last year. Read More... |

RIYADH: A legal expert at the Ministry of Labor has denied that the Kingdom’s new labor law bans mingling of men and women in workplace.
“While article 166 of the old labor law prohibited men and women from mingling in workplace, the new law only stipulates that their employment should be in accordance with Islamic Shariah,” Al-Watan newspaper quoted the unnamed expert as saying. Read More... |

Al Haram Al Sharif to undergo expansion |

Makkah: The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs has started procedures for the expropriation of an additional 130 real estates to facilitate the expansion of the Al Haram Al Sharif Mosque in Makkah.
The ministry has directed owners of the real estates to contact the Committee for the Development of the Northern Courtyards of the Al Haram Al Sharif in order to complete the procedures of expropriation of their properties for the sake of the largest ever Haram expansion, ordered by King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, early this year.
